Gaurav Bandi is a Senior Partner and head of the Capital Markets and Funds practice groups of VALS LEGAL. Gaurav has experience of over 29 years in the field of capital markets both in legal and financial spheres.
Gaurav acts on a broad range of capital market transactions for both investment bankers and domestic and international issuers. His experience includes advising on equity capital market transactions, including IPOs, QIPs and rights issues by Indian companies and foreign institutional investments into India. He also specializes in regulatory practice, securities laws and corporate governance and has advised clients across the entire value chain on aspects of securities law. Gaurav has advised clients on a wide range of transactions in the financial services, fintech, information technology, defense, infrastructure, insurance, logistics, manufacturing, pharma and healthcare, real estate, telecom sectors.
Gaurav also specializes in asset management and funds. His areas of practice include fund formation and fund structuring including AIFs, regulatory advisory in relation to financial services, venture capital and private equity and private credit. He regularly advises clients in relation to real estate investment trusts, joint ventures, entry level strategy, corporate restructurings and on aspects of financial services regulations pertaining to the securities market and exchange control.
His dual qualification as a Fellow Member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India complements his legal expertise, offering clients a comprehensive approach to complex legal and financial challenges.
Having served as a director for 25 years of a leading Indian securities, commodities and derivative company, Gaurav gained considerable experience with leading financial exchanges in India, including the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE), MCX Stock Exchange Ltd (MCX-SX), National Commodities & Derivatives Exchange of India (NCDEX), Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd (MCX), and Indian Commodity Exchange Ltd (ICEX). He gained deep insights into working of the financial markets providing him with a robust foundation in securities laws.
